About the artist: Katrin Koelling-Schlebusch

Raised in Hamburg, since 2006 she has lived and worked in Vienna. The works of art for this exhibition were done during the last two years. These creations are from the series “Durchs(ch)ichten” and “Moments”.

"Durs(ch)ichten" - "Moments": Arts exhibition from 18th July until 6th September 2010

Raised in Hamburg, she began her Chemistry study in Düsseldorf at 1989. After she completed her degree, she stayed in Berlin, in the “Weselbergland” (near to Hannover) and Munich. Since 2006 she has lived and worked in Vienna. In parallel to that she started doing more artistic work. Whereas earlier works of art were usually “Kollagen” and creations done with watercolours, she now focuses on oils and acrylic. Colours are usually put on the canvas by the “technique of splitting”. The works of art for this exhibition were done during the last two years.

These creations are from the series “Durchs(ch)ichten” and “Moments”.

“Durchs(ch)ichten”: while considering you are looking through a layer that seems to be torn off – like a torn off poster on the wall – and you can see something new emerging.

“Moments”: shows parts of life – daily situations – that are stopped for a brief moment and pictured.
